This project site and your church participation in it helps speed progress on our core focus, namely: Bringing faith communities together as stewards of creation to quicken action to broadly implement renewable energy, energy conversation and efficiency as a faith response to the threat of climate change.
When Hoosier Interfaith began in 2011, seven values were named to guide would our work. We find these values personally invigorating and return to them often when considering our own actions and those we encourage within our growing network. We hope you will find them encouraging as well.
These values are:
- Inclusivity: We welcome and respect persons of all faiths and beliefs.
- Tenacity: We know this work will take passion and sustained commitment.
- Faith/Caring for the Earth: We are guided by a belief that we have a moral imperative (or responsibility) to care for the earth.
- Integrity: We are open, honest and principled in all our communications and interactions.
- Cooperation: We collaborate, listen, share, encourage, and support each other.
- Urgency: We recognize that the hour is late and we must make significant changes in actions and policy in a very short time.
- Clarity of Focus: While appreciating that people of faith can be engaged in many ways to find solutions to this problem, we are clear that our focus is to pursue our mission.
